Hello there bloggies!

Y’all, I just took a peak at the women’s matches on slate for Day 4 of the Aussie Open. And whoa, just whoa. This is going to be a fun day of tennis. Sorry gents, but the ladies are bringing it on Day 4.

Leading the way is of course the incredible Serena Williams who again faces a tough test again Lucie Safarova, a rematch of a recent French Open final. Lucie took her to 3 sets in that matchup, and is already living on borrowed time in this tournament after saving NINE yes NINE match points in the last round. Serena knows how talented Lucie is, so I expect her to be fully ready for this match and advance in two sets.

In the hipster match of the day, Andrea Petkovic takes on Barbara Strycova. There will be feelings, internal conflicts, and some ridiculous shot making. The press conference should be just as insightful and entertaining as the actual tennis. Get those ladies talking…always a good listen.

Next we have what I’m hoping will be the match of the day: young gun Naomi Osaka takes on Aussie-born Brit Jo Konta. Osaka can hit anyone off the court, and that includes the hard hitting Konta. But Konta has revolutionized herself the past 18 months and learned how to win mentally. Hoping this goes three topsy-turvy sets, but see Konta taking the win.

You think I’m out of intriguing women’s matches. Hell no! Aga Radwanska will have to navigate another heavy-hitter when she takes on Lucic-Baroni, who just loves taking out seeds. And then Aussie Daria Gavrilova takes on Ana Konjuh who is just aching to continue her breakthrough. Always root for an Aussie in Melbourne though. And finally, there is a battle for the future of French woman’s tennis when Dodin takes on Garcia.

And finally, we have the gift that is Ostapenko vs. Putintseva. Now I will most likely be asleep during this amazing display of tennis, emotions, celebrations, and angst. But I will be fully reliving this gloriousness on Twitter, through gifs, and youtube clips. #ImHereForTheHandshake.

Now, I’ve completely and totally ignored the men’s draw. There are a few matches that made me said mmmmm.

The men’s side has its own Battle of Cray Cray when Benoit Paire takes on Fabio Fognini. I’m not entirely sure why, but I think I am a Paire fan. When that man is on, dude is fire. Plus I like his Instagram account. Go Team Paire!

Nadal takes on Marcos Baghdatis, who did make a final here in Australia back in the day. But Rafa will handle the entertaining Cypriot.

There’s also an intriguing matchup of youngsters when Zverer takes on Tiafoe. Would be amazing to see some young ones make some waves. The ATP needs a little unpredictability and some new personalities.

I’m totally jazzed for Day 4. What matches you looking out for? Let me know in the comments or on twitter @DrFsThoughts.

See you later!
