Spring is finally here! That means that it is oh so easy to find reasons to get together with friends, have fun, and celebrate. What goes perfectly with these gatherings? Baked goods!

The last few weeks I’ve found myself baking, baking, and baking some more. I wanted to take a moment to share some of my creations with you all.

Lemon Poppy Seed Cake with Raspberry Jam and Vanilla Frosting


I adapted my Mom’s lemon cake recipe and added some poppy seeds. Some fresh berries and the most fantastic vanilla frosting ever (seriously…check it out. http://tastykitchen.com/recipes/desserts/thate28099s-the-best-frosting-ie28099ve-ever-had/).



A little foray into the bread-making world. The dough was a tad under-kneaded, but pretty happy with the result.

Midnight Chocolate Cake




Topped with the same ridiculously good vanilla frosting, the cake is so chocolately and not dry at all thanks to Joanne Chang’s (of Flour fame) great recipe.
