Almost every morning, I make a breakfast shake that helps to fuel me for the rest of the day. It includes spinach, protein powder, fresh blueberries, and greek yogurt. If interested, you can grab the recipe in a previous post.

A couple of months ago I made a controversial change to this recipe. I went for a walk on the wild side. Instead of using fresh blueberries, I put these blueberries into the freezer. I then tossed these frozen blueberries into the blender.

The result was heaven. The frozen blueberries added the perfect addition of coolness to the shake. It was so refreshing. Since that day, every shake has included a handful of frozen blueberries. I’ m now running into the problem of handing too many frozen blueberries to the shakes. With the berries going out of season, I could see this getting expensive! Thank goodness for the frozen fruit section of the grocery store.

I’ve always been somewhat reluctant to change around the recipe of my morning shake, but I’m so glad I took the plunge with these frozen blueberries.
