Hello there bloggies! Welcome to Wishful Wednesday and another book writing update! I can’t believe it’s already time to be writing another book update.

Let’s start with the progress of The Collective. For those of you who still haven’t checked out an excerpt, take a quick visit over here!

Two more people have finished reading the latest edit of The Collective: my mom and dad! Both read the draft in record time (about a day each!). Each of them seemed to enjoy it, and at least liked it enough to read through it quickly. While they are contractually bound to be supportive of my crazy book writing escapades, my family (including myself) is well known to be fairly blunt to each other. So, I do take some confidence from their readings. They have handed the edit off to my aunt and uncle. We shall see what they have to say.

With more and more people reading my draft, I am also trying to learn more and more about the publishing process. I will need to edit my manuscript after I get a few more people’s feedback, but I am feeling more and more confidant about trying to get this published. Why not? I recently ordered the book Perfect Bound by Katherine Pickett to learn more about the process. Check out her twitter here. Information will be key, especially with my lack of experience in this area.

Now, let’s turn to the other book I am working on. Right now, it has the working title of Deluded. I am currently in the middle of Chapter 14 at about 42,000 words. The plot is about to reach a key point. It’s going to be such fun to write!

The big problem I am running into is finding time to actually write the draft. There is simply too much going on! With all of the travel, work, blog writing, and even job-hunting in my life at the moment, it has been crazy difficult to be creative and write these last chapters. Frankly, it’s not a terrible problem to have. It means that I am doing lots of fun things and experiencing an event-filled summer.

However, I am about to make my way to two of my favorite writing spots: the airport and airplane. I’m weird and simply love airports and flights. The people watching is fantastic, and it is a place where I can disconnect from my email/social networks. I can just focus on writing and travelling. I’m hoping I’ll be able to make some big progress into the draft. I’ll be sure to keep you all updated and maybe even include another excerpt soon.

Thank you for stopping by this book update on Wishful Wednesday! Any thoughts or advice on moving forward with my book writing? Leave a comment below or on twitter @DrFsThoughts.

See you all better!
