Hello there bloggies! Welcome to Wishful Wednesday!
The crazy part of my summer has officially begun. I spent this past weekend up at my brother’s place in Ipswich and am currently at a conference in Newport, RI. From here, I’m off to Old Orchard Beach, ME. Add in a couple of Red Sox games, a visit to New Haven, a trip to Cape Cod, and a little voyage to Sweden/Denmark (eek!), it’s ridiculous in the best possible way!
Am I over-committed? Very much so!
Have I been completely thrown out of my routine in all sense of the word? Absolutely! And I love a good routine.
Am I forgetting what my bed and apartment look like? A bit.
Do I miss waking up and not doing anything? Only for a minute but then no way!
Is this all a bit out of character for me? You betcha!
During this past winter of horribleness (so much snow), I was stuck in my little town and unable to really do a lot. I resolved to start doing more things and saying yes to as many things as I could. Life is too short (and weather too variable) to overthink things and just sit my apartment. I have planned trips/events and said yes to as many invitations as I could.
I have chosen to accept all of the craziness that comes with all of this travel and experiencing life. I will be sleeping on couches, air mattresses, ridiculously small beds in a dorm room, Swedish/Danish-sized (aka way small) beds, and sleeping beds the next 4-5 weeks. I have absolutely no idea how I am going to get all of my work in lab done in this time period (2 papers to submit and another to draft…ah!), as well as possibly search for a new job. Not only that, but it is going to be a challenge to keep up with these blog posts and working on my books.
With all of that in mind, I have chosen to take everything as it comes. I can’t wait to experience all of these fun, crazy things in the next few weeks. I feel like it has been a long time since I’ve forced myself to throw myself into so many things. It’s going to be a blast! And I’ll be sure to talk about it all here!
Thanks for stopping by! What fun things do you have planned for this summer? How do you put yourself out there? Let me know in the comments below or on twitter @DrFsThoughts.
Talk to you all later!
PS Here’s a little peak of one of my adventures!
