Hello there bloggies! You know what time it is this round of Wishful Wednesday. That’s right! Another rousing biweekly book update here on Dr. F’s Random Thoughts.
Drum roll please. The first person in the world has made it through my book. What is even crazier is that they made it through unscathed! Apparently, this friend thought about handing it off her little cousin to read. I’m excited to get her comments back in the mail and see where I can make improvements.
Once I get the draft back in the mail, my plan is to quickly review her comments and then hand over the draft to another friend of mine. I also want to check-in with the other few friends of mine that are making their way through the draft. I don’t want to rush them, but I do want to get a sense of if they are actually reading through it and when they may be finished. It may be the perfect motivation to keep going with book number two.
Speaking of book number two, writing is actually going really well! Though, finding time to solely dedicate to writing is proving to be a challenge. There is just so much going on this spring. I am about 23000 words and 9 chapters into this book. This book is proving somewhat easier to write. I think it’s because I am basing many of the events that I have actually experienced instead of some dreamed up fantasyland that I thought up in my crazy head. The challenges, experiences, and thoughts in this book are based far more in my experiences during high school, college, and even presently. It’s been an amazing way to reflect upon some of the situations in my life and what I want to accomplish in the future. It has almost been a personal, introspective therapy session. I think it will be far harder to share this manuscript with people since there is far more of myself in it. But, to me, it is way more interesting. I can’t wait to see how it turns out and eventually what people think of it.
Thank you all for stopping by another biweekly book update on Wishful Wednesday. Comment below or on twitter @DrFsThoughts with any comments or questions on this or other posts.
See you all on Friday!
